Born and brought up in Uttarakhand, Gayatri has been seeing Vernacular spaces of intense value. Her first encounter of developing interest in the field of spatial creation came in as a surprise at an young age of 7 when she first visited Paatal Bhuvaneshwar while living in Champawat, Uttarakhand and then “bhool bhulaiya” at Bara Imambara, Lucknow. Being a “Pahadi” that she is, she grew up having surrounded by the nature with all its glory. Raised in Tehri, Champawat and Dehradun, she always had mother earth’s nurturing hand all over. A Nature lover by birth and an active person by trait, as any child she loved playing with pebbles by the river, little did she know, growing up,  that it would be a part of her profession as well. After 10 years of this first impression, it took a total shift of perspective to rediscover her passion in creating built environments when she travelled to Kerala and found her Inspiration in form of AR. LAURIE BAKER‘s works. She then chose Architecture as her professional stream and learned the ways of the art and craft to finally realize the future lying in the sustainable development. This inturn took her to places where she would eventually mould herself into the gracious being that she is today. Today Gayatri is practicing the ways of sustainable spatial creation through her designs and execution using a principled array of material choice. LiDha (Living In Dharti) is an establishment made by her to provide such solutions which become a lifestyle and create better environments for all the living beings.
