Nestled in the quaint village of Changomul in the outskirts of Telangana state, Nostalgia Eco-Stay Townlet (NEST) is a resort with the old world charm and characteristics resembling a 1920s Telangana village setting. The design brings to mind the simple and humble living of the olden times and coaxes one to retreat into the lap of nature and unwind.

The material palette involving shuttered debris walls, wooden columns and beams, casuarina pole trusses and clay tiles undoubtedly takes one back in time. Various stay options like, cottages, a forest house, a dormitory and the “village” president’s house, caters to the stay of a maximum of 62 persons. The structures feature traditional elements like courtyard, sitout (arugu), firewood stove (kattela poyyi), the revered tulsi plant (tulsi kota), wooden columns supporting pitched roofs and arched windows.
The townlet offers features like a temple, a watchtower, dining hall, multipurpose hall, cattle shed (gau-shala), lakefront, crops, walking trails, hawker spots and bullock pulled cold pressed oil. One can engage in activities like rangoli making, fruit picking, fishing, sightseeing, games, theater plays (natakam), harikatha, hold meetings and organize functions. It is a world within.
Visitors are welcomed into the embrace of the lush green setting of the Miyawaki forest and serene waterbodies flowing through the site. Varied trees found in the Village comprises the banyan, jammi tree, flame of the forest, night-blooming jade, etc. Multiple crops are cultivated for the use of the visitors thereby, making this townlet, a self-sufficient one. Water bodies like lakes, ponds and wells are interposed to add a sense of serenity and help the visitors to relax and rejuvenate.
The townlet draws one to introspect on the intrinsic connection of man and nature by offering a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of city life. Visitors are welcomed into the embrace of the lush green setting of the Miyawaki forest and serene waterbodies flowing through the site.
